In recent years, NGCC has completed 24 scientific research projects at national and provincial level and 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF). Among them, 3 projects were awarded the Advance in National Science and Technology Award (second prize), 2 project were awarded the Advance in National Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology (first prize), 1 project was awarded Advance in National Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology (second prize), 1 project was awarded Advance in National Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology (third prize), and 1 project was awarded the National Archives Science and Technology Award (first prize). There are over 200 scientific papers published on national and international journals, 8 of which are on prestigious international journals, 15 of which are on SCI, and 15 technological books edited and published .
Prof. Chen Jun, the President of NGCC and Prof. Li Zhilin of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University have established a joint research laboratory for dynamic and multi-dimensional GIS. They have completed a NNSF Key project on Dynamic and multi-dimensional GIS in collaboration with Tsinghua University and Wuhan University. Great progress has been made on dynamic and multi-dimensional data models and relevant algorithms.
Fruitful research results have been obtained in geodetic surveying and geodynamic, national fundamental geographic information network and geographic information system demo projects. Among them, ¡°The design, survey and data processing of national high precise GPS network ¡± and ¡°National 1:250000 fundamental geographic information system database ¡± are awarded Advance in Surveying and Mapping award (first prize), ¡°The resurvey at Everest and crust movement of the surrounding areas¡±, ¡°The disputed boundary negotiation and management system¡±, ¡°The office automation system in Changzhou City Land Bureau¡± and ¡°The guide for the city geographic information system standardization ¡± are awarded ¡°Advance in Surveying and Mapping Award (second prize), ¡°The surveying and mapping specifications for provincial administrative boundary¡± was awarded Advance in Surveying and Mapping Award (third prize).
