ISPRS Workshop 2013 was held in Hannover, Germany

International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Workshop 2013 was held in Hannover, Germany on May 12-24, 2013.

The theme of ISPRS Hannover Workshop 2013 is “High-Resolution Earth Imaging for Geospatial Information”.

NGCC’s delegation which consists of seven persons from different product companies, attended the technical sessions. Most of the sessions focus on High-Resolution Images’ processing, information extraction, image spectrum enhancement and new remote sensing sensors. Many researchers introduced their studies on these areas.

After the workshop, on May 25-27, NGCC’s delegates communicated with Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation, Leibniz University Hannover, mainly on the aspect of key technology in the Chinese Project of Geographic National Conditions Monitoring.

In recent years, object-oriented information extraction method based on high resolution remote sensing images in land cover classification is studied by global researchers. Based on multi-kinds of images and foundation datum, IPI can extract many artificial surfaces and different vegetation information, the method they are using is very adaptive and efficient.

Besides, we were also very interested in the methods they are using in quality evaluating and change information extraction.

In our project, artificial surfaces and different vegetation information extraction is a problem for us, via this communication, we obtained some experience from IPI.It is useful for us in the following researches.
